My day started out at 6am when I picked up Lazy E. We got to the event at 845am. Upon entering we were greeted by a bunch of people from the board. It’s really nice to meet and talk to all of you. It’s my 2nd convention and I don’t know all of you guys yet, well I’m getting there. Anyways we headed into the vendors area, picked up Bob Orton first since he was the first that we saw. Got him in the Encyc and a photo. Next came my biggest want on the day- Bobby Heenan. We gathered in a small line for him. I’m really glad I got him out of my way before my superticket number was called up. Got him in the encyc and a photo. Next was Rob Terry, I only needed a signature from him of a photo of us from K and S. By that time it was my turn in the 1st superticket line. All of the guests were super friendly and seemed happy to be there. Can’t say enough on how the ST lines were ran. Compared to K and S, it was very smooth and organized. I hope all conventions can take a page or 2 from the way these ST lines were ran. Upon returning to vendors area, I got in line for my Dixie Carter combo. I bought a 16 x20 poster earlier for her to sign. I figured why not. She was super sweet. From there on I hit up all the vendors I could afford. My biggest regret is not getting a photo with Mr. Fuji. I think that him and Heenan came to one of these for the last time. I could be wrong. After my 2nd superticket was over i got my last 2 vendors I needed- Tiger Ali Singh and Tiger Jeet Singh.. After that it was a long wait for Maria, since she was going to be late. While waiting for Maria in the lobby, i saw Kevin Sullivan walking around, so i politely asked him for a photo. He asked me what kind of photo I wanted- A photo of him naked in cowboy boots. LOL. Maria showed up at 4pm and rushed through everybody since she had to be somewhere else in a few hrs. Got her in my Summerslam 09 program. Overall a very fruitful day. Can’t wait to do it again.
One of our users class316 attended LOTR X and sent us a report. After a fruitful time with a few celebs, I geared up for another long and tiring day.
I arrive Friday night at the bar and say hi to everyone at the bar. I shook Dixie’s hand and then I spoke to Rico. Rico asked my name (how cool is that) and I told him how glad I was he made it. He told me he was glad as well. I told him I’d see him in line the next day.
Overall I think the convention was well organized. There was no cluster fuck anywhere, the superticket lines ran smoothly, no significant cramps in the vending room. Can’t speak for the Jeff Hardy line as I did not participate in that.
Thanks to Terence and the rest of the crew for taking care of me. And as always, thank heavens for Dave working the superticket line, and thanks to Sig and Rob for helping with some of my vendor photo ops.
Practically the whole day I was without food till I went to a buffet at about 6:45 pm. The only thing I had eaten all day was a banana that I mooched from Nicole.
There was yet another addition to the people who asked to see the infamous Virgil photo. One woman who was GA and waiting to meet Rhino began talking to me, and the subject of Virgil was brought up. I told he how Virgil flashed me and I had a photo. Her jaw dropped and she wanted to know the full details and she asked to see the photo.
My good buddy CMShowstopper even tried to tell Virgil that I had the photo calling me a pedophile, and I told Virgil “why are you listening to him, he threatened me and put his hand on me".
And lots of promoters and fans commented on the “are you recording this” video and told me how awesome and funny it was.
Superticket
Block 1
Purple suited Ivory: Virgilth time meeting her. She remembered me like she always does, telling me “hi, how’ve you been, it’s been a while". She was friendly, sweet, and looking good, as always. When Dave took my photo op for some reason the flash didn’t go off like it should have (not Dave’s fault). When I said the photo came out too bright and I needed another she commented “he’s pretty particular". Got her on the WWE_E.
Rico: First time meeting him. He remembered me from Friday night. He was ultra awesome and friendly, and probably my top want on the superticket. He let me wear his jacket for the photo op, how cool is that? Got him to complete the Rico/Haas AD figure. He even asked me which color to use (he had 3 sharpies aligned like Wolverine’s claws)
non-clown suited Tiger Jackson: First time meeting him. Awesome rare name and good guest. But perhaps somebody from LOTR can answer: who the hell was that woman with him? His wife? Got him on the Dink entry of the WWE_E.
Kurrgan: First time meeting him. WOW that guy is huge! But ultra friendly. Got him on my Oddities mag cover already signed by Luna and Giant Silva. Won’t ever get Golga, still need ICP on it.
Mantaur: First time meeting him. He looks different than he used to. Friendly guy and got him on the WWE_E.
Sean Mooney: First time meeting him. Another great name and ultra friendly. Got him on the inside cover of the WWE_E and a trading card. Would have never recognized him to save my life.
Mike McGuirk: First time meeting her. Ultra friendly and looking so doable. Got her on the WWE_E.
Mean Street Posse: First time meeting all three. I remember when I used to request MSP on the boards only to be shunned and laughed at by both fans and promoters. Some would say they wouldn’t even pay $10 for a group photo op. But sure enough, with everybody being used, overused, dead, or Savage, MSP are booked for a superticket!! All very friendly and glad to be there. Got them on the WWE_E.
Block 2
TNA shirted Earl and black shirted Dave: Second time meeting each. Both so nice and friendly, making sure everyone got good autos and photo ops. Got them on their WWE_E entries.
Rhino: Virgilth time meeting him. His level of fan friendliness has gone down over the years. Don’t know why. I sold my auto since I have him Virgilized.
A-Train: First time meeting him. Another great rare guest. He was nice to everyone. Got him to complete the X-Factor entry of the WWE_E.
Monty Brown: Second time meeting him. Ultra friendly to fans as always. Got him on the WWE_E.
PN News: First time meeting him. Nice guy and got him on the WCW book.
Brother Love suited Bruce Pritchard: Third time meeting him. Nice guy and got him on the WWE_E.
Gerald Brisco: Third time meeting him. Seemed happy to be there. Got him on the WWE_E. Surprised he has no single entry in that book.
TNA shirted Jeff Jarrett: Virgilth time meeting him. Since I had him Virgilized I sold my auto. But he was his usual ultra mega go out of his way friendly self.
Vendors
Business suited Dominic Denucci: Second time meeting him. Seemed like a quiet guy but looked healthy for his age. Got him on the WWE_E.
Jimmy Rave: First time meeting him. Cool guy and got him on my TNA program.
Jose Luis Rivera: First time meeting him. He seemed happy to be there. Got him on the WWE_E.
Petey Williams: First time meeting him. One guy that should never have been fired from TNA. He was so entertaining don’t know what happened. Nice guy and got him on my TNA program.
Mr Fuji: Third time meeting him. Quiet guy and got him on his CS figure.
Alissa Flash: First time meeting her. Glad DantheMark got this under used female. She was very nice and kind to everybody that met her. Got a nice photo op.
Amazing Red: First time meeting him. Wow that guy is small. But cool guy and got a photo op
CW Anderson: First time meeting him. Very cool guy to all fans. Got a photo op.
Tajiri: My top want from this show! He was nice to everybody and a top notch guest. I got him on the WWE_E and an RA 10.5 figure.
Bobby Heenan: wow he wasn’t looking good. But I got him to complete the CS2p Heenan/Abe and once again I can consider him Virgilized.
Evan Karagias: First time meeting him. Don’t know why it took him so long to surface, but I got him on my 3 Count WCW promo and a photo op. Cool friendly guy.
Fyre: First time meeting her. She was nice and got a photo op.
Sikh headed business suited Tiger Ali and Tiger Jeet Singh: I caved in and got a combo with them. I got Jeet on his WWE_E entry and Ali on the lo down entry where he is pictured. When asked to stand they seemed reluctant but they stood (they had just sat down a minute earlier). Since I was paying good money for this photo op and it was so rare that I’ll probably never get another chance at it, I made sure to have Rob on hand.
Luckily I consider Maria Virgilized so I did not need to stick around for her. So after saying goodbyes it was time for the sun to set.
To my shock Virgil was actually taking photo ops for FREE in the lobby. I went up to him, I shook his hand and told him goodbye he winked at me, then I left soon after.
One of our users mrira attended Legends Of The Ring X and sent us a report.
My day started at 8:20 AM when I left to go down to LOTR, I arrived at about 9:30 & went onto the ST line for my photo’s.
Ivory: total sweetheart & talked to everyone.
Rico: One of my top wants of the day & didn’t dissapoint, asked your name & remembered it in the autograph line too.
Kurrgan: Sort of quiet, but was nice enough.
Tiger Jackson: Really nice guy
Mantaur: Nice guy.
Sean Mooney: Again one of my top wants & was very cool & talkative & got a kick out of my WM 7 Program.
Mike McGuirk: Sweetheart & looks really great for her age.
MSP: Cool guys & seemed Happy to be there.
As far a vendors, Dixie Carter was super sweet & loved to interact with fans & loved the Hogan/Cart Plaque I had her sign. Bobby Heenan was expectably quiet, but seemed super happy to be there & still seemed to have that same wit that made him the best manager of all time. Mr Fuji seemed like he was falling asleep when I went up to him. Tommy Dreamer & Beaulah’s line was pretty long, Beaulah loved the ONS 06 chair & when Dreamer heard were I was from & Brian said Matt Strikers town he said “Oh, did he ever touch you,” lol. The longest line of the day went to London & Kendrick who I believe I waited probably 30 minutes for, but were worth the wait as both were really cool. I was a bit sad that The Beautiful People could not do joint Photo Ops, but I guess with Dixie there they didn’t wanna risk anything. I ended LOTR with the 2nd half of ST’s.
The Hebner’s: Really nice guys, sort of wish they appeared in Ref shirts, but still cool.
Rhino: He was a bit, quiet, but I thought he was cool.
PN News: He was cool.
Monty Brown: I thought he be a prick, but was really cool.
Bruce Prichard: I had talked to him at K&S & was as nice as then
Jerry Brisco: I had talked to him at K&S & was as nice as then
Jeff Jarrett: Another Top want & was nice. After leaving LOTR & made the trek back to Queens for the ICW show, I got there at 5:30 & alot of the LOTR wrestler’s began arriving about an hour later, everyone was really cool, shook my hand and those I ment at LOTR remembered me. Dreamer did a signing at intermission & had just as long a line as he did at LOTR. During the second half I caught site of Matt Striker & we had a brief chat. The event was really cool, the highlights being the Motor City Machineguns Vs The SAT, Dreamer Vs Homicide & Amazing Red Vs. Super Crazy Vs Tajiri. I arrived back home at about 11:50 PM so I had a long day.

For me this was a very pricey LOTR. I feel like I spent more on this one then the other two I attended combined. In the end I got to meet some talent that I was really looking forward to meeting. Let me first address the issue that many people seem to have. Legends crammed all the vendors into one room this time around. Whether it was to cut costs or make sure that all guests were together, it didn’t work well. Jeff Hardy still warranted his own room for good reason. However the main room was far too crammed. There were many points were you couldn’t move 2 steps if you wanted just because of the lack of space. I’d recommend rethinking the one room layout in the fall. I did however really liked the way you the Superticket room was set up. I felt this was much better than the set up I’ve seen the last two times around.
The other pain that was out of anyone’s hands was the Maria situation. I know a few people had to leave that preordered items. I would hope they would at least be partially refunded because of the large delay in her arrival. As for vendors:
Mr. Fuji- first time meet. He was nice but very quiet. Still well worth the cost to me. Signed my HOF program.
Bobby Heenan- Very glad his health held up this time so he could attend. I felt so bad for him but you could tell he was happy to be there and meet his fans. Got an auto in the HOF program.
Petey Williams- HUGE want of mine. Petey is one of the TNA guys that I really enjoyed watching and wish he was still around. Talked some about Team Canada. Picked up Petey on 2 posters and the first TNA Program.
Amazing Red- Big disappointment. Red spent more of his time talking to his friends than interacting with people paying to meet him. Thought he would be nicer but I got my autos on a couple posters and picture.
London and Kendrick- They were well lit that’s for sure. They were entertaining but it held up their line quite a bit which can get aggravating. Good first time meets on both.
Traci Brooks- Nice as always. Once again I must reminder her of someone cause she brought it up to me again. Commented how my poster was “vintage” lol. Picked up a picture with her knockers flying out of her shirt. On a side note: I’m wondering what other people thought on this subject. Who’s boobs were sticking out more, Traci or Velvets?
Rob Terry- nice enough. Didn’t really say much. Looked like he didn’t have a ton of traffic and he was bored.
Alissa Flash- seemed like she didn’t want to be there. Paid to get here as Alissa in the new program and she flipped to Raisha and signed it as well. That was nice of her atleast.
So Cal- Always very nice. No difference here. She looked very good.
Sonjay- Nice enough for a first time meet. Picked up on a poster and TNA Program
Chris Harris- same as Big Rob.
Tajiri- His line moved super fast IMO. The eye movements were anoying when I was trying to take a picture for someone else but it came out great in my photo. Wished I coulda talked more with him.
Ivory- Very nice. Well worth the money and the perfect example of how I think guests should be.
Monte Brown- similar to Ivory. Wrote some great inscriptions on my posters. Very happy that he may be coming back soon.
Jarrett- same experience I’ve had the 2 other times I’ve met him. He’s friendly but never goes over the top.One of our users cmshowstopper attended Legends Of The Ring X and sent us a report
Let me first start by clearing up the wheel chair. Short story, about 12 years ago I had a horrible accident where I injured my back. Over time the several discs in my back began to deteriorate and punched a nerve. L4, L5, L6 and S1….S1 being the nerve, I guess. The pain is tremendous, worse than any bone I have ever had broken. Usually after a few weeks of pain killers, rest, massage and heat therapy, the pain will subside a bit and there are no issues. Unfortunately, it is reoccurring and comes about around twice a year….spring and fall. Not sure why those times, but it is what it is. Less than a week ago, it came. I would have skipped out on LOTR this year, even though I am glad I did not, but since I had preordered several things, I did not want to bail. One of the reasons, I am not a big preordering kind of guy, but certainly loved the presale deals, vendors and LOTR offered, so again…it is what it is. So, the wheel chair was MORE than essential for me to be at LOTR. I cant thank my good friend and marking out partner DJKnightRida enough for taking care of me and rolling me around all day long. Dont know too many people who would put up with that BS.
Now that my short story has gone long, onto the report. Got to LOTR a little later than I wanted too b/c my back was troubling me in the morning. But got there and was able to secure a ga ticket asap without issue. Once inside, we went into the main room and scoped it out. Most of the guests we were in need of were not going to be there till later. So we figured we would get the few that were there. Hit Bobby The Brain up first. Bobby has been one of my all time top wants. Growing up as a kid, I loved and hated Bobby. He helped make superstars superstars and continued to do so for many years. His witty banter is untouched and his ability to manipulate words still marvel me to this day. We got into the line for Heenan and had a very small wait. Once it was my turn, I thanked him for coming out and making many dreams come true today. Bobby was in great spirits. Talk about the power of being positive. Bobby epitomizes it and his wife too. She thanked me for coming out and said Bobby was really looking forward to meeting everyone. I had explained how I had tried to meet him at several shows of recent times and unfortunately he was unable to make it and that this is such a gift for his fans. I was pleasantly surprised that Bobby spoke so well with his reconstruction to his jaw and I had no issues hearing nor understanding what he said. I got just an autograph, as I did not want to try and get a photo with my injury, the tight quarters and a small fear of falling over and into Bobby. I’ll probably come to miss this photo later on, but I think it was the right decision.
Once done with Bobby, my layover began. DJKnightRida was nice enough to get the ST guests I needed in Ivory from the first block and iwantthatsig got me Kurrgan in my WWE E. Around 11:30 the waiting was over, as more and more guests arrived. Saw several come into the front door, like Jeff Hardy. In typical Jeff fashion, always trying to make his fans happy, he signed and took photos on the way in. But next up for me turned out to be my longest wait of the day, Paul London and Brian Kendrick. I have never had the pleasure to meet these two guys, but have admired their work for SO MANY years. London and Kendrick were so friendly with their fans, that the line was taking even longer. So I hopped out of the chair for a quick second and headed over to Tommy Dreamer, who had no line at all. A big thank you to Brian Keenan, who did such a fantastic job with all his guests. Nice guy to speak with. Tommy signed 2 programs for me and I told him I was glad to see him working Chikara. Tommy seemed disinterested and didnt say much. I have been told that that is just how Tommy is. Oh well. Got back in the chair just in time for London and Kendrick. London, dressed in full Intreprid Traveler gear, minus the ray gun, was awesome an did not dissappoint. I noticed he had tshirts for sale, but sadly no Hybrid Dolphins shirts. He laughed. I told him how I wanted his new shoot interview from Highspots, but HS would not have them for sale till next week. Paul reached into his bag and whipped out a copy for me. He and Brian signed it for me. Very cool. I watched the first disc so far and laughed my ass off. Fan fucking tastic! Must watch. I got my picture with both London and Kendrick, but it turned out a tad blurry. Oh well. Thats what I get for not inspecting it before I leave.
I moved down to Jimmy Wang Yang, who I also needed a few autos in my programs. But as soon as I got there, Jimmy went to the other side of the table and started signing. Wrestlingmarx was very cool to help out and went and had Jimmy sign my programs, without requiring me to turn around or get back into line. Wrestling marx did a fine job and helped me out.
Moved onto one of the heavier TNA sections with Angelina Love, Alissa Flash, So Cal Val, Sonjay, Chris Harris and The Beautiful People. First and foremost……Velvet was WOW! I mean wow! Isnt she always? But wow! So Cal was dressed to impress and was looking amazing as well. And one of my personal favorites, Alissa Flash was looking gorgeous as well. My back was acting up at the moment, so I kind of kept everything short here….regrettably. Chris Harris was hardly recognizable. Alissa was quiet. Angelina was ok. Stopped at the IVP booth, before I went to try and relax in the lobby for a bit and got Ken Doane. Kenny was damn cool. He signed my WWE E and we chatted about Seducing Cindy. He said he had NO interest in winning it. He was 4th to last to be eliminated. He did say he was starting to think he might have a chance to be in the finals and was plotting out this heel turn he was going to make, if he did. He was gonna cut a heel promo on the show and turn Cindy Margolis down, saying this and that and getting some major pub. Sucks for Cindy, but was still a cool story.
Around this time, I was informed that Chris Hero was coming to LOTR as a surprise guest. Oh wow! I was psyched. All kinds of awesome here. Me love Chris Hero. Some of you may have no idea who he is, but for me personally he was a highlight for me and one of the guests I spent the most on. I got a Hero autograph, bummed he had no 8X10s, Hero tshirt and a photo op that he gave me for free. Actually, Chris was doing photos for free for anyone who wanted one. I have met Chris several times before, but was unable to get a photo with him due to him being a heel. The closest I got was taking promo shots of him backstage for Chikara once. It was cool. But I wanted a shot with him. Someone please sign Chris Hero!
As I was in the lobby trying to rest a bit, DJKnightRida and my other buddy with me, JF was able to get my WCW US Title signed by Tajiri. I heard his line was a bit long and was glad I didnt have to sit through that. The second Superticket block of guests started and DJKnightRida and iwantthatsig helped me out with Jarrett, Monte, Rhyno and The Hebners. After they were done with that, I was rolled over to Jeff Hardy’s room. Every guest was crammed into the main room, with Jeff having his own space. I heard there was an issue with Jeff b/c TNA wanted everyone to buy this $50 combo which got you a 16X20 photo of Jeff that was photoshopped and not high quality, a Shannon Moore signed 8X10 and Jeff’s signature on the poster. No photo, no other items. They were $20 extra. People were unhappy and just wanted a photo or their own item signed. Luckily, a good friend of mine who works for LOTR was there and helped me out and I was able to pay just the $20 to get my WWE autographed magazine, the WM cover where Jeff is smashing a car. There was only 1 person ahead of me and no one behind me. Not sure if whatever line he had had died out or whether it was people just not paying the $50. I got a chance to talk to Shannon and he said the book of DILLIGAF is real and its notes, drawings and ideas from his mind. He is going to have it printed and it will be for sale soon. At least I know what it is now. Jeff said he thought that was cool and wanted to do the same. When I got up to Jeff, he asked me why I was in the chair. I was surprised and told him a shorter version than what you have read and he seemed genuinely concerned. I asked him how did he know I wasnt usually in a chair and he told me he remembered me from the NJ signing a few months ago and that I was the guy that made that kick ass poster for him. I was a bit stunned that he remembered. He said he hung and framed the poster in his living room and is amazed by it, thanking me again. Very cool!
After Jeff, I found out that Maria was running big time late and might not be coming at all. Oh no! Found out later she would not arrive till 4pm, an hour and a half later, some flight problems. So the waiting game began. My friend McBoober helped me out and got my a new photo with London, cuz my last one was blurry. No Intrepid Traveler but oh well. Unfortunately, I did not see Kendrick to get a makeup one with him. No biggie.
Finally, Maria arrived and began to sign. The line was LONG. It went out the door and around the side of building. Not sure on the total number, but there were a good number of people there. But being so organized, Brian was able to move everyone through. The end of line was finished in 45 minutes and never did I feel rushed with Maria. She was very nice, signed all my stuff, asked about the chair and my pain, took the photo and off we went. I was lucky to have so many friends with me to help me get my stuff signed and get me out of line, so I didnt cause a major hold up. Keenan sure knows how to run a signing. One of my best experiences by a promoter.
All in all, it was a long day, but worth it. This LOTR was loaded in amazing vendor guests! Here is my list of pros and cons and then my photos.
Pros:
1. DJKnightRida—-thanks for taking care of me……Gaylord. LOL! (inside joke)
2. Brian Kennan—A+ promoter, knows how to be organized and professional.
3. Paul London and Brian Kendrick—-being so much damn awesome!
4. Jeff Hardy—-always looking out for his fans and just being such a cool down to earth guy, when he happens to be such a big superstar.
5. Velvet Sky—one word… cleavage
6. Bobby Heenan making it to LOTR
Cons:1. Cramming everyone into the main room for LOTR. I know its expensive to get more rooms, but even if they had just one more, it would have helped with the lines. The way it was setup, it was tough to know who’s line was what and blocked many vendors who didnt attract many guests. I know poor Ivan Koloff got blocked so bad that a guy who had many photos for Ivan couldnt find him.
2. Wished guests like Hero, Jerry Lynn and Kevin Sullivan were announced. Not sure what happened, but it would have been nice. I could have brought a Hero promo to get signed.
3. Forcing people to buy the $50 Jeff Hardy poster to be signed in order to get your own stuff signed for $20 more.
