I went to the Hamptons Film Festival in East Hampton, NY over the Columbus Day weekend. While the purpose of my trip wasn’t to meet celebrities, I had a great time and got to rub elbows with some very big names.

On Saturday, I sat for a Q&A between Alec Baldwin (Glengarry Glenross, 30 Rock) and Marty Bregman, producer of Scarface, Serpico, and Carlito’s Way. Baldwin was incredibly engaging, and shared his views of modern Hollywood vs. its roots in theatrical training, while Bregman helped the audience understand the role of the producer in filmmaking. I also saw the films Paper Man (Jeff Daniels) and Solitary Man (Michael Douglas) with Rudy Giuliani and Martha Stewart in attendance.

On Sunday, I attended a Q&A with the prolific Steve Buscemi. Mr. Buscemi talked about moving from stand-up comedy to theatre, to acting in films and television, to directing movies and television. He was often hilarious and very informative.

Afterward, Mr. Buscemi was gracious enough to pose for photos and sign autographs for fans.
